The Least Visited Small Towns In Wyoming

The most visited towns in Wyoming include Jackson, Cody, and Sheridan. Those nearby parks and mountains are the reasons why.

But what about the least visited towns in Wyoming? The ones that have almost no residents and very little tourist trade? Among those towns are Lost Springs, Yoder, Mills, Wright, Atlantic City, and Ten Sleep. That's the short list. There are many more that we can mention. Those are the places that people just blow by on their way to something interesting.

Some places make people go "yuck," and they might step on the gas a little harder to put those towns behind them. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I guess. Many of the "yuck" towns are places where people work, so the place does not look great and tourists are not interested. Rock Springs, Rawlins, and Gillette are the least visually appealing in Wyoming.

That's not to say that the people of these towns are not worth getting to know. Don't judge the people by the looks of the town. But that's not what tourists are interested in. They want to see things.

I have found that many places don't look so great from the highway, but if you pull off and drive through, you'll end up loving the place. Wheatland and Douglas are among those towns.

I have not named every place in Wyoming. There are so many that are worth it and many that are not worth your visit. But you get the idea. Often the best way to get to know a state is to get off the beaten path and explore.
