Many books, movies, and documentaries talk about Wyoming's famous HOLE IN THE WALL. Now it's coming to the big screen!

The Wyoming Historical Society Annual Conference will host a special screening of HOLE IN THE WALL, an original documentary exploring the rugged landscape, history, legends, and family stories surrounding Johnson County’s famous Hole-in-the-Wall country.

The “Ultimate Outlaw Fortress,” Hole-in-the-Wall became legendary in the late 1800s. It's where Butch Cassidy, Sundance and their gang hid horses, cattle, and loot. This new film deep dives into families and interesting people who lived and worked in the area. Some of those families are still there.

But this film is not just about Butch and Sundance. There was a lot more to The Hole In The Wall than them.

The Red Wall fortress, under the Bighorn Mountain range, is a fifty-mile-long red sandstone formation that defined the bounds of the area's 4,000+-year-old Native American presence. It was also the front line of the Johnson County War with hometown hero Nate Champion VS. the Wyoming Stock Growers Association. The area also ties in with Owen Wister, who wrote his 1902 novel, The Virginian: A Horseman of the Plains.

This new film is an Award Winner at the Wyoming International Film Festival, Winner of Best Rocky Mountain Feature at the Spark of Madness Film Festival, and an Official Selection of both the Black Hills Film Festival and Depth of Field International Film Festival.

Directed by Stephen Howard Tucker and commissioned by the Johnson County Tourism Association.

Old Medicine Of The Chugwater Wyoming Drugstore

If you visit the tiny town of Chugwater Wyoming you'll find the newly restored Soda Fountain.

In fact it's Wyoming's oldest soda fountain and malt shot.

It's always worth stopping in for breakfast or lunch, or maybe a shake or malt.

The place was a drug store and soda fountain for the longest time.

Back then soda was actually used to cure an upset stomach.

So what sort of old medicines were left behind by Chugwater's last pharmacist?

It turns out, some of them are on display.
