The 2025 Wyoming High School Softball State Championships are in Cheyenne for the first time. Games will be May 22-24 at the Cheyenne Junior League Complex. The two game fields are the Central Majors and South Majors Field. The 2025 season ends with an eight-team, double-elimination state tournament bracket. These fields face northwest and southwest in Cheyenne on Converse Avenue just off Del Range Boulevard.

2025 WYOPREPS SOFTBALL STATE TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

Seeding was based on each team’s finish at the two inaugural regional tournaments last weekend in Casper and Laramie.

THURSDAY, MAY 22:

Final Score: (N4) Natrona County 10 (S1) Laramie 9 - the Fillies built a 10-2 lead and held off a Laramie comeback. Q. Sale had 4 hits (2-3B) and 2 RBIs for NC. Dean had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for the Plainsmen.

Final Score: (S3) Cheyenne Central 20 (N2) Sheridan 17 - the Indians rallied with 9 runs in the top of the 7th to overcome a 17-11 deficit. Both teams hit 3 HRs and combined for 35 hits. Erickson & Birt had 3 hits & 2 RBIs for Central, while Martinez added 2 doubles & drove in 3. Sheridan was led by Howe's 3 hits & 3 RBIs. Lollar added 3 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score: (S2) Cheyenne East 13 (N3) Cody 3 - the Fillies led 2-0, but East took the lead with 5 runs in the 3rd, highlighted by Millar's 2-run HR. Artery had 3 hits (2B, 3B) & 4 RBIs, and Millar added 3 hits & drove in 3.

Final Score: (N1) Campbell County 10 (S4) Rock Springs 0 - Cole tossed a no-hitter with 13 Ks and 2 walks. The Camels scored 6 runs in the 3rd and capped it with 4 in the 5th. Cone homered and drove in 2 runs, and Gray added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

 

FRIDAY, MAY 23:

Final Score: Cheyenne Central 9 Natrona County 5 - the Indians scored four runs in their last 2 at-bats to pull away. Aragon had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Central.

Final Score: Cheyenne East 11 Campbell County 3 - T-Birds were leading 2-1 before Stephenson hit a grand-slam for East to break it open 6-1. She finished with 2 hits & 5 RBIs. Hollibaugh added 2 hits & 4 RBIs.

Final Score: Laramie 9 Sheridan 8 – Broncs are eliminated - Plainsmen scored 5 in the bottom of the 6th, and Sheridan strikes back with 7 runs in the 7th to tie it. Laramie's Kricken hits the game-winning RBI double.

Final Score: Cody 11 Rock Springs 8 – Tigers are eliminated - the Fillies went in front on an 8-run 4th inning. Lindahl had 3 hits (2B) & 3 RBIs.

Final Score: Campbell County 19 Laramie 18 – Plainsmen are eliminated - the game featured 29 runs in the last four innings. Cole's RBI single to RF won it for the Camels in the bottom of the 7th. Kimbley had 3 hits (HR) & 5 RBIs. Thayer and Muffie added 3 hits & 3 RBIs each. Cass had 3 hits & 2 RBIs for the Plainsmen.

Final Score: Natrona County 14 Cody 12 – Cody is eliminated - NC stayed alive in a back-and-forth game. Cody scored 7 runs in the top of the 4th, and NC answered with 6 in the bottom of the frame. 2 runs by NC in the 5th were the difference. Dickinson had 3 hits (HR) & 5 RBIs for NC. Teten finished with 3 hits & drove in 4 for Cody.

Final Score: Campbell County 12 Natrona County 11 – the Fillies are eliminated and take 4th place - the Camels pushed in front after a 7-run 5th inning. NC tied it in the 6th at 9-9, but Campbell County scored 3 in the 7th and held NC to 2 runs. Thayer had 3 hits & 3 RBIs for CC. Devoe led NC with 3 hits & 4 RBIs.

Final Score: Cheyenne Central 5 Cheyenne East 0 – semifinal - Indians advance to the title game behind Chaney Birt's shutout. Central scored 4 in the 5th on a 2-run 2B by Kammerman and an RBI-triple by Martinez, who scored on an error. Maddie Birt added a solo HR in the 6th.

 

SATURDAY, MAY 24:

Final Score: Campbell County 10 Cheyenne East 6 – the T-Birds are eliminated – East finishes in 3rd place - the Camels jumped out to a 7-0 lead and never trailed. Cone had 2 triples and a double and drove in 4 runs. Thayer added 2 hits & 2 RBIs for the Camels. Stephenson had 2 hits & 1 RBI for East, who scored 4 times in the last two innings but fell short.

Final Score: Campbell County 29 Cheyenne Central 9 – 1st Championship Game - Camels for the 2nd title game. After a 4-0 lead, Campbell County scored 8 runs in the 2nd and 10 more in the 3rd. Kimbley had 4 hits & 3 RBIs, Simianer 4 hits & 2 RBIs, and Thayer added 2 hits & 6 RBIs.

Final Score: Campbell County 17 Cheyenne Central 12 – If necessary, 2nd championship game - The Camels win their 2nd title in school history and first since the inaugural season in 2021. They scored 8 runs in the bottom of the 1st to take the lead and looked back. Central pulled within 10-8 and 15-11 but couldn't rally. Kimbley had 4 hits, including a 2-run HR, and drove in 3. Smith added 3 hits & 4 RBIs. Cole contributed 2 hits & 4 RBIs and was the winning pitcher.
