1 Dead, 1 Injured in Rollover Crash in Albany County

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says driver fatigue may be to blame for a single-vehicle rollover crash in Albany County that left one person dead and another injured.

The crash happened around 11:33 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2 near mile marker 40 on Wyoming 230, about two miles from the Colorado state line or 38 miles southwest of Laramie.

According to a fatality crash summary, a Ford Explorer was headed southbound when the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road, crossed the northbound travel lane, and went off the road.

"The Ford entered a driver's side slide, tripping, rolling, and impacting the right-of-way fence," the summary reads.

The crash left the driver injured, but, sadly, their unbuckled passenger, 71-year-old Colorado resident Vickie Martin, didn't survive.

Martin is the 91st reported person to die on Wyoming's highways this year.
