To be eligible to hunt in the State of Wyoming, if you were born after January 1, 1966, you'll need to complete a Hunter Education Course. If you completed a course in another state, you'll need to have proof of the course's completion with you when you're in the field hunting. If you don't have that proof, you may as well enroll in a course in Wyoming, and if you're planning to hunt in 2026, you'd better hop to it.

Luckily, if you need to enroll, there are many Hunter Education Course opportunities, either in person or online. Courses are generally available from January to September, with the majority in March, April, August, and September. Remember, you don't have to have the Hunter Education Course completed to apply for a hunting license, but you'll definitely need it before your hunting season arrives.

I mentioned that in-person or online courses are available. Here's a breakdown of the difference between the two:

Hunter Education In Person: Intended for people who want a traditional classroom setting that includes lessons with an instructor, hands-on opportunities, and in-class videos

Hunter Education via Internet: Only the first part of the course is intended to be done online. The second portion is an in-person four-hour instructor-led course.

Classroom Hunter Education opportunities coming in March and April:

Casper's Boyd Avenue Baptist Church:

Glenrock

Cheyenne
