“I’m honored to be here at the University of Wyoming with the goal of making a positive impact on this side of the pool deck,” Freeman said. “I want to thank everyone that has got me to this position today.”

Freeman comes to Laramie from Seattle, Washington, where he held his first coaching position. He was an assistant coach with Alpha Diving.

Prior to that, Freeman was a collegiate diver at the University of Cincinnati where he earned a degree in biochemistry. He qualified for the Zone Championships twice in 1- and 3-meter.

“I’m excited he’s here,” said diving coach, Mark Murdock. “He’ll be able to bring outside knowledge to the team and give us more eyes on more people, and that’s important because we have a lot coming in this year.”

Wyoming opens the season in a couple weeks. The Cowboys and Cowgirls compete in the Horsetooth Open Water Swim on Sept. 10 in Fort Collins, Colorado.
