Kojenets Becomes Fifth Wyoming Player to Enter Portal
LARAMIE -- Wyoming has now lost five players to college basketball's version of free agency.
Oleg Kojenets Tuesday announced he would be entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, joining guards Obi Agbim, AJ Wills, Levi Brown and Nigle Cook. The 7-foot Lithuanian spent the previous two seasons in Laramie after transferring from Nebraska.

The Cowboys now have just three scholarship players -- Abou Magassa, Scottie Ebube and Matija Belic -- on the active roster.
Sundance Wicks, as of now, has only inked three incoming freshmen: Forwards Gavin Gores (6'10", 210, Cumberland, Wisconsin) and Neil Summers (6'9", 240, Laramie, Wyo.) and guard Nasir Meyer (6'7", 185, Los Angeles, Calif.).
Kojenets, who has just one season of eligibility remaining, appeared in 23 games last season, starting five of those. He averaged just under three points per game and connected on 40.4% of his attempts from the field. The junior also hauled in 2.3 rebounds a night.
His best outing came during a 64-61 victory over visiting Southeast Louisiana in late November. Kojenets tied a season-high with seven points on 3-of-5 shooting. He also added eight boards in the win. He also netted seven in a road tilt at San Jose State in February.
Kojenets, who was named to the U19 National Team for his native Lithuania in the Basketball World Cup, was a three-star recruit and ranked the No. 26 center in the nation, according to 247sports. He capped his prep career at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio before accepting a scholarship to Nebraska before the 2021-22 season.
Both of his parents played collegiately at UNC Wilmington before playing professionally overseas.
Former Wyoming head coach Jeff Linder signed Kojenets before the 2023-24 campaign. He averaged 3.7 points per game during that season in a little over 9.4 minutes per night.
The spring portal window opened today and goes through April 22.
