Wyoming (14-8, 5-2 MW) got a pair of straight-set singles wins and won two in three sets. Noesjka Brink got the Cowgirls on the board first, as she once again made quick work of her opponent at the No. 2 singles spot. Brink, who won 6-2 and 6-1, now has 24 wins overall this season, including the fall schedule, which is tied for the third-most in a single season in program history. Brink is now 9-4 in 2024 and 5-1 in Mountain West play.

Sophie Zehender got the Cowgirls’ other straight-set win, as she came out on top at No. 1, 6-3 and 6-1. At No. 3, Violetta Borodina rallied to win her matchup, 3-6, 6-1 and 6-2. Wyoming clinched the match, also in three sets, at No. 4, as Jeselle Ante won a battle, 6-2, 6-7 (4-7) and 6-4.

The doubles team of Borodina and Zehender won 6-3 at the first doubles position for the Cowgirls’ lone win in doubles.

“We didn’t play our best tennis today, but a lot of that has to do with San Jose, their style of play affected us, but I thought we played tough,” said Head Coach Dean Clower after the match.

“We got after it, one through six, on every line, especially after losing the doubles point. We kept going, everybody got after it. Most importantly, everybody played our style and made points.”

Wyoming will next be in action Thursday at 5 p.m., closing a three-match homestand. It will be Senior Night in Laramie as the Cowgirls welcome Air Force to town.

University of Wyoming’s Top 50 Football Players

During the summer of 2021, 7220Sports.com counted down the Top 50 football players in University of Wyoming history, presented by Premier Bone & Joint Centers, Worthy of Wyoming.

The rules are simple: What was the player's impact while in Laramie? That means NFL stats, draft status or any other accolade earned outside of UW is irrelevant when it comes to this list.

This isn't a one-man job. This task called for a panel of experts. Joining 7220's Cody Tucker are Robert GagliardiJared NewlandRyan Thorburn, and Kevin McKinney.

We all compiled our own list of 50 and let computer averages do the work. Think BCS -- only we hope this catalog is fairer.
