LARAMIE -- A celebration of life is planned Wednesday, March 6, at 6 p.m. in the University of Wyoming’s Arena-Auditorium to honor the three Wyoming swimmers who died in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 287 about 10 miles south of the Wyoming-Colorado border Feb. 22.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., as it is open to the public.

Charlie Clark, 19, a sophomore on the men’s team and a psychology major from Las Vegas, Nev.; Carson Muir, 18, a freshman on the women’s team and an animal and veterinary sciences major from Birmingham, Ala.; and Luke Slabber, 21, a junior on the men’s team studying construction management from Cape Town, South Africa, were killed in the accident.

Among the speakers in Wednesday’s event are Gov. Mark Gordon, UW President Ed Seidel, Director of Athletics Tom Burman, Head Coach Dave Denniston and swimming and diving student-athletes. Aaron Frude of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes also will speak.

The Dean of Students Office, (307) 766-3296, is available for any well-being support or academic assistance students may need.

UW Athletics is making counseling resources available for its student-athletes and staff through:
