Jeff Tedford's team had gone 40 straight offensive drives without a three-and-out. They featured a 25-quarter scoring streak, not to mention the nation's second-longest win streak at 14.

Wyoming hadn't scored a single point against the Bulldogs in the last two outings, including a 30-0 blanking in the 2022 season finale. Craig Bohl's bunch was on an 11-quarter scoreless streak against this team and lost four straight in the series.

That was a history lesson.

It's all history. Just like the 'Dogs No. 24 ranking in the Associated Press poll.

Wyoming holds on late for the 24-19 victory, moving to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in Mountain West play.

Craig Bohl is now 57-57 all-time as the head coach at Wyoming. In the 250th game of his career, the longest-tenured coach in school history finally pulled even after winning just six games during his first two seasons on the high plains.

The junior running back eclipsed the 100-yard mark in his first three games in a UW uniform. Fresno State, which entered this one allowing just 93.2 yards per game -- 16th in the nation in that category -- gave up 147 total yards on the ground.

For the second consecutive week, Peasley threw a pass to that many receivers. Welch led the way with six grabs on the same amount of targets. The Minnesota native finished with 74 yards and a score.

For the first time in his six seasons on campus, Wieland hauled in two touchdown passes in a single game. His first came from 14 yards out. The second, a four-yard strike.

John Hoyland missed his first field goal of the season late in the fourth quarter, clanking a 47-yard attempt off the goal post. The junior did connect on his first attempt of the night. That one came from 34 yards out. That boot -- his 54th career make -- moved Hoyland into a third-place tie in the record books with Cory Wedel.

That's how Mikey Keene's day went. Fresno State's quarterback rolled up 218 yards through the air and heaved a six-yard touchdown pass to Jaelen Moss in the corner of the end zone. Keene suffered an injury early in the fourth quarter after a DeVonne Harris sack.

Suiaunoa led the way for the Cowboys' defense Saturday night, racking up that many tackles. Nine of those were solo stops. The outside linebacker also added a sack.

Middle linebacker Easton Gibbs tallied eight tackles, 0.5 sacks, a quarterback hit and a forced fumble against the Bulldogs. He now has more than 300 tackles in his Wyoming career, moving into 16th place all-time.

That was Fresno State's record before Saturday. In seven days, Wyoming will face its second straight unbeaten team, the Air Force Falcons, in Colorado Springs. Troy Calhoun's squad holds a slight 30-27 advantage in the series, but the Pokes claimed a 17-14 win last season in Laramie. UW hasn't won inside Falcon Stadium since 2017.
