A season-high 16 three-pointers propelled the Wyoming Cowboys to a 77-58 win at Air Force on Monday night.

Wyoming (8-5, 2-4) stopped a four-game skid in Mountain West Conference action.

The 16 triples are the most in a game since UW made 16 in a game against Northern Iowa on Dec. 3, 2016. The 19-point margin was the largest conference win for the Pokes since a 19-point win over Utah State at the Arena-Auditorium in Laramie on Feb. 6, 2016.

Freshman Xavier DuSell scored a career-high 19 points, which included a career-best five three-pointers. Kenny Foster scored 13 points, Drake Jeffries had 12 points, Hunter Maldonado scored 11 points, and Marcus Williams added 10 points.

The Cowboys shot 49 percent in the game and were 50 percent from beyond the arc.

Air Force also shot 50 percent for the field, but the Falcons were just 1-12 from deep.

UW opened a 16-point lead in the first half and held a 38-23 edge at halftime. The Cowboys lead was trimmed by the Falcons to 10, at 45-35, but that’s as close as Air Force would get. Wyoming’s lead reached 27 points on a Jeffries triple with 8:11 left.

The Pokes return home to take on Nevada this Friday and Sunday. Friday’s game will start at 6 p.m. at the Double-A in Laramie.
