The historic Virginian Hotel in Medicine Bow has surpassed the century mark! The hotel's centennial was celebrated this summer at the annual Medicine Bow Days Celebration. The famous hotel opened its doors on September 30th, 1911.

The Virginian Hotel was built on the site of the former Elkhorn Hotel and opened on September 30th, 1911. The historic hotel is situated on the Old Lincoln Highway also known as U.S 30. It got its name from a novel written by Owen Wister. The novel and hotel generated enough recognition to even become a tv series in the 1960's and 1970's that was loosely based on the novel.

The Virginian Hotel is currently owned and operated by Vernon and Vickie Scott.
