Wyoming’s defense may have a new leader, but there’s not a lot different when it comes to how things are going in spring football practice.

The Cowboys are approaching the one-third mark of spring drills and new defensive coordinator and safeties coach Jake Dickert feels his move into a new role has gone fairly seamlessly.

KOWB’s David Settle spoke with Coach Dickert about how spring practice is going for him, his added responsibilities, what he’s seen so far from the defense, the transition at the safety position led by senior Alijah Halliburton, the young players at the safety, as well as, what the next steps are for the Pokes on defense this spring in the video above.

Wyoming continues its spring drills with practices on Tuesday’s, Thursday’s, and Saturday’s through April 27. That is the date of the annual Spring Game in Laramie at 2 p.m.
