A public forum regarding proposed service changes to the Gem City Grand bus route that serves Laramie and the University of Wyoming will be held next week.

According to Carolyn Smith is the Albany County Transportation Authority chair and UW Director of Auxilary Resources. She says that the forum will cover the cutting back of services in the ACTA bus lines that service both Laramie and UW.

"We are going to be reducing service on our Gem City Grand community transportation line," says Smith.  "Those changes are to reduce our Saturday operation hours from 10:00 until 10:00 to 1:00 until 6:00.  Also there will be no service on Sunday."

The reduced hours of service are coming as the result of a Thirty-thousand-dollar budgetary shortfall for the coming fiscal year.

The propsed changes would take place November 1st.

The forum will be held Wednseday night 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Albany County Public Library Wyoming Room.

"We do think that the Gem City Grand is doing a great job," says Smith.  "But we also do have to stay within our budget."
