Female Victim in Double Homicide-Suicide Was F.E. Warren Airman
A 24-year-old woman who was among three Cheyenne residents found shot to death at Romero Park early Tuesday morning was an airman from F.E. Warren Air Force Base, officials say.
Police spokesman Officer Kevin Malatesta says 46-year-old Brian Perkins had gone to the park to meet with Abigail Smith and 44-year-old Michael Tolar. He then shot and killed the two before turning the gun on himself.
"There was a personal relationship between the parties involved, they knew each other, but I can't really get into the specifics of what that relationship is," said Malatesta. "At this time, we don't have any indication that drugs were involved."
"Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of those affected by this incident," said Col. Peter M. Bonetti, Commander of the 90th Missile Wing. "Airmen and families define our Air Force, they are and always will be our top priority. Losing one is too many.”
The incident, which is the second double homicide to rock the capital city in the last 15 days, remains under investigation by the Cheyenne Police Department.
