Two people were arrested in Laramie last week on separate felony charges.

The first arrest involved the alleged theft of a trailer.  Officers of the Laramie Police Department were called to the intersection of 30th St. and Armory Rd. shortly after 4 p.m. on Oct. 29.  The caller said that his trailer had been stolen, and that he had located it at the intersection.

When officers arrived, they found the black Fastline flatbed trailer.  Lt. Gwen Smith said that while the officers were trying to confirm that the trailer did in fact belong to the victim, they discovered that the vehicle identification number plate was no longer on the trailer.

“It took them quite some time and a lot of investigation to determine that the victim did truly own that trailer,” said Lt. Smith.  “They had to go through the county offices to locate the registration for that trailer.  Once they located the last known registration, they worked backwards to the subject who had sold the trailer to the victim they were speaking to.”

Police then located and arrested 54-year-old Laramie resident Alberto Mora.  He has been charged with Theft in excess of $1,000.  If convicted, Mora could face a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The second arrest resulted from a report of suspicious activity to the Laramie Police at about 9:50 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30.  Officers went out to the 300 block of South Pierce St. to investigate.

Upon arriving, officers came into contact with 33-year-old Sheena Marie Hennig, who was acting strangely.

The only other information released by LPD so far is that following an investigation by officers, Hennig was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substances, Felony Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substances, and Misdemeanor Possession of Methamphetamine.

Hennig was booked into the Albany County Detention Center.  If convicted, she could face a sentence of up to seven years in prison and a $15,000 fine for Felony Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substances.  She could also face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine for Felony Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substances, and up to one year in prison and a $1,000 fine for Misdemeanor Possession of Methamphetamine.
