Falcons’ Jones May Be Out For Year – NFL Roundup For Oct. 9th

UNDATED (AP) — Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowl receiver Julio Jones will go for a second opinion on his injured foot amid concerns he could miss the rest of the season. Coach Mike Smith says the initial report on Jones' foot was not encouraging. Jones injured the foot during last night's 30-28 loss to the New York Jets, which dropped the Falcons to 1-4 and four games behind first-place New Orleans in the NFC South.

In other NFL news:

— The NFL will play three regular-season games at London's Wembley Stadium next year, hosted by the Jaguars, Falcons and Raiders. Dates and opponents for the games will be announced when the schedule is completed next year.

— New Orleans, Indianapolis and Minneapolis are the three finalists to host the Super Bowl in 2018. Those cities were selected from a pool of six at the NFL owners' meetings on Tuesday. New Orleans is seeking its 11th Super Bowl, Minnesota hosted one in 1992 and Lucas Oil Stadium is bidding to be the first cold-weather stadium to host two Super Bowls.

— Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw will miss the rest of this season after opting for neck surgery. Bradshaw was injured in Week 3 against San Francisco, but it's unclear when he was injured. He took a big hit on the opening series, continued to play, then was hurt again later when he ran into a lineman.

— Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones has been found not guilty of an assault charge accusing him of punching a woman in the head at a nightclub. Jones was accused of hitting Shannon Wesley outside a downtown Cincinnati nightclub and was arrested in June.

— Michael Vick says his injured left hamstring feels better, though he didn't take part in team drills during practice. Vick left late in the second quarter of Philadelphia's 36-21 win at the New York Giants Sunday.

— Quarterback Mark Sanchez has undergone season-ending surgery on the torn labrum in his injured right shoulder, possibly also signaling the end of his New York Jets career. Sanchez was in a tight competition with rookie Geno Smith for the starting job this summer before being hurt against the Giants. Sanchez says he's "disappointed" by not being able to play this season, but expects a full recovery.

— Giants starting running back David Wilson will miss Thursday's game against the Chicago Bears because of a neck injury. The Giants re-signed Da'Rel Scott, who was cut last week.

— The New Orleans Saints have moved up a notch to No. 2 on The Associated Press Pro32 NFL Power Rankings, with Denver remaining the top team. The Saints improved to 5-0 on Sunday while previous No. 2 Seattle lost to Indianapolis. The Seahawks are third in the rankings, followed by Kansas City, the Colts, San Francisco, New England, Green Bay, Cincinnati and Baltimore.
