CODY, Wyo. (AP) — Law enforcement in Park County is investigating the discovery of a mutilated body as a homicide.

The Park County Sheriff's Department says the headless body of a man was found at about noon on Thursday by a man hunting ducks with his son. Investigators haven't yet found the man's head.

Park County Sheriff's Office spokesman Lance Mathess has said the body was on federal land along Little Sand Coulee Road west of Powell.

The victim is described as being less than six feet tall, weighing between 180 and 200 pounds with a "stocky" build.

The victim was wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans. He wore a belt with Native American designs and a matching belt buckle with braided boarder and a pearl-colored inlaid horse head.
