UNDATED (AP) — Dallas Cowboys middle linebacker Sean Lee signed a six-year contract extension. It's a deal that goes through the 2019 season.

A story on the team's website Wednesday night said Lee's deal is worth about $42 million, but could escalate as high as $51 million depending on different incentives. The guaranteed money is around $16 million.

In other NFL news:

— Houston running back Arian Foster was removed from the physically unable to perform list and practiced with the Texans for the first time since May. Foster strained his right calf in an offseason practice in late May and struggled with a sore back after recovering from that injury.

— The Baltimore Ravens have acquired running back Delone Carter from the Indianapolis Colts in a trade for wide receiver David Reed. Carter has started three games over two seasons with the Colts, running 133 times for 499 yards and five touchdowns. The 26-year-old Reed has five career receptions for 66 yards over three years. All five catches came last year.

— New York Jets fullback Lex Hilliard has been placed on season-ending injured reserve after seriously injuring his shoulder at practice. A person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press that Hilliard has a broken shoulder blade that requires surgery.

__ Defensive end Antonio Smith of the Texans has been suspended by the NFL for the last two preseason games as well as the season opener for hitting Miami guard Richie Incognito with the Dolphins player's helmet.

__ Veteran kicker Rian Lindell (RY'-an lin-DEL') has signed with Tampa Bay two days after being cut by Buffalo. Lindell spent the past 10 seasons with the Bills, where he ranked second in franchise history with 225 field goals made and 980 points scored. The Bucs signed the veteran of 13 seasons because pre-training camp acquisition Lawrence Tynes has a toe injury that has prevented him from kicking this preseason.

—Linebacker Jonathan Bostic of the Bears has been fined for a hit during last week's preseason game against San Diego. A person familiar with the situation says the fine is worth $21,000.

— Steelers rookie running back Le'Veon Bell will miss Saturday night's exhibition game against Kansas City. He is in the process of getting a second opinion on his sprained right foot. Bell underwent an MRI on Tuesday after he was hurt in the first quarter Monday night's 24-13 loss to Washington. The Steelers took Bell 42nd overall in the draft last April, hoping he could help fill the void left Rashard Mendenhall left in free agency.

__ The Arizona Cardinals have signed Dan Carpenter to compete with Jay Feely as the team's kicker. Carpenter was released by the Miami Dolphins a week ago.
