On Tuesday the Laramie City Council approved curbside recycling on third reading, which will begin this year. The Laramie Boomerang reports that the ordinance would establish a program for the city of Laramie by working with Waste Management of Colorado. Residents will pay a mandatory user fee of $1.93.

Some of the materials which will be recycled through the curbside program include plastics 1-7, aluminum cans, and a variety of papers and cardboards. The program will not be able to take glass or plastic bags.

Containers for recyclables will be distributed by the city which are similar to the trash containers the city began distributing last year. The Boomerang anticipates that city workers wil collect recyclables twice a month.
