Liv Roberts scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her first double-double this season in the Wyoming Cowgirls 66-60 victory over Nevada Wednesday night.

Taylor Rusk tied her career-high with 15 points, while Clara Tapia had 12 and Marta Gomez added 10 off the bench.

Wyoming (8-5, 1-1) was aided by excellent free throw shooting. The Cowgirls knocked down 19-20 (95%) at the stripe. That included 13-14 in the final quarter.

The Wolfpack trailed by as many as 16 in the second quarter. It was 36-24 at halftime. A 9-0 run in the third trimmed the UW lead to 43-37. Another Nevada run of 9-2 cut the Cowgirl lead to 54-52 with 4:21 left.

Tapia found Gomez on a back-door cut for a lay-up with one second left on the shot clock at the 3:16 mark. After a Wolfpack basket, Roberts grabbed an offensive rebound, made the shot and got fouled. Her free throw made it 59-54 with 1:31 left.

Tapia went 6-6 on free throws in the final 26 seconds. Along with one from Roberts, it helped stave off a Nevada comeback, as the Cowgirls kept it at a two possession game in the final half minute.

Wyoming shot 45 percent from the field, but just 25 in the fourth quarter. They out-rebounded the Wolfpack 34-30. UW had 14 assists, but 19 turnovers.

Nevada (8-6, 1-2) shot 41 percent in the game. They were led by Jade Redmon off the bench with 20 points.

The Cowgirls return to action Saturday at Boise State. Tip-off is at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Y95 Country (FM 95.1).
