The Border War began on the volleyball court Thursday night as the Colorado State Volleyball team made the journey up to Laramie to take on the University of Wyoming in the UniWyo Sports Complex.The Rams took the match in three straight sets  25-25, 25-21, 25-13.  The Cowgirls were led by sophomore Jodi Purdy with 9 kills for a .273 hitting percentage and 7 digs followed by redshirt freshman Reese Roehrkasse who hit .308 for the night with 7 kills and 3 block assists.  An aggressive CSU offense it .340 in the match led by Danielle Minch with 15 kills and 2 aces.  A solid CSU defense held Wyoming to a .160 hitting percentage. Head Coach Carrie Yerty said she is proud of her team and the progress they have made this season:

"CSU is a great team and we're a young team learning how to be a great team and our next step is to be able to compete and beat the top teams in our conference."

CSU moves to 24-3 overall and 13-1 in Mountain West Conference play while the Cowgirls fall to 22-8 overall and 7-7 in the MWC. The Rams are currently ranked 15th in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll.  The Cowgirls will wrap up conference play next week with matches against BYU and Utah on Wednesday and Friday.
