It wasn't quite the day the Wyoming Cowgirls were hoping for at the NCAA Outdoor Track Championships Thursday in Austin, TX.

Still, the four Cowgirls that did compete earned Honorable Mention All-America honors.

Senior Jerayah Davis, from Casper, actually picked up three Honorable Mention All-American awards in three different events. She placed 20th in the 100-meter dash national semifinals with a time of 11.46 seconds. After that, Davis finished in 23rd in the women’s long jump. Her best leap was 19 feet-6.25 inches.

All the other honors came in the 4x100 meter relay. Wyoming took 23rd overall with a time of 44.77 seconds. The relay team was comprised of Davis, senior Ja’la Henderson, freshman Shayla Howell, and senior Jordan Edmonds.

There were 24 participants in the individual events and 12 in relays.

The NCAA Championships continue for UW with Henderson competing in the triple jump Saturday at 4:40 p.m., Mountain Time. She was a Second Team All-American in that event a year ago.
