Cowgirl Tennis Earns Four All-Conference Honors
Four members of the Wyoming Cowgirl Tennis program have received All-Mountain West honors for the 2015 season.
Seniors Alma Espinosa and Christa Gecheva were named All-Conference in doubles. Each earned the first honor of their career. They went 9-4 this spring at number one doubles, including a 3-1 mark in Mountain West play.
Sophomore Dorottya Jonas and redshirt freshman Magdalena Stencel were selected First Team All-MW in singles.
Stencel is 17-12 this season, which includes a 10-7 mark this spring at number one singles. She went 2-2 in league matches. Stencel was also a MW Women's Tennis Player of the Week in March. It's the first honor of her career.
Jonas received her second accolade. She was named All-MW in doubles last year. Playing at number three singles, Jonas is 19-14 overall and 9-7 this spring. She went 3-1 in the MW.
It's the seventh straight year the Cowgirls' program has garnered postseason honors in either singles or doubles.
The awards were voted on by the league's 11 head coaches.
