Behind 21 points from Desmar Jackson, which matched a season-high and a career-high 16 points from JayDee Luster, the Wyoming Cowboys won their third straight game 76-49 over Centenary College Monday night at the Arena-Auditorium.

Luster hit two three-point field goals and went 10-of-12 at the foul line for his career high.  Jackson was 8-of-15 from the field and 4-for-6 on free throws.  Jackson added six rebounds and five steals.

Even Cowboys Head Coach Heath Schroyer was pleased with what he got out of his two guards:

"There was a little flurry there in the first half, I thought, where they got their hands on some balls and got out in the passsing lanes and did some good things.  Those two are really starting to figure out how to play together.  Both of those guys, I mean, one of them had 21 and one had 16, that's 37 combined.  That's pretty good from your guard line."

Down 5-2, the Pokes (6-6) went on an 18-2 run in the first half that featured points from all five Wyoming starters.  It put the Cowboys up 20-7, and they never looked back.  The Gents (0-13), from Shreveport, LA, got within seven on two occasions late in the first half, but Wyoming extended the lead back to 39-24 at halftime.

The lead in the second half stayed mostly between 15 and 18 points until Wyoming pulled away late for the 27-point win.

Djibril Thiam added 12 points and 12 rebounds.  Wyoming forced 25 Centenary turnovers and had 14 steals.  The Pokes shot 48 percent from the field and held the Gents to 38 percent.

Centenary College was led by Jeron Trotman with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Wyoming goes for its fourth consecutive victory Wednesday night against Wisconsin-Green Bay.  Game time is set for 7 pm.  You can listen to Cowboy basketball on KCGY (FM 95.1), with coverage starting at 6:30 pm.
