Marqueze Coleman scored 23 points and helped lift the Nevada Wolfpack past the Wyoming Cowboys 71-68 Saturday in Reno.

Coleman scored 13 of Nevada’s final 19 points. His 3-pointer with 22 seconds left made it a two possession game. Coleman sealed it at the free throw line by going 3-of-4 in the final 15 seconds.

Nevada (9-5, 1-1) also got 15 points and 8 rebounds from Cameron Oliver. The Wolfpack shot 44 percent from the field and went 18-for-23 at the line.

Wyoming (7-8, 0-2) lost its’ fourth straight. Josh Adams led the Cowboys with 26 points. Alan Herndon scored 13 points, while Justin James added 12. The Pokes shot 39 percent from the field, but only 33 percent in the second half.

Nevada jumped out to an early 9-2, but the Cowboys fought back and tied it at 14. A late 11-0 spurt by Wyoming gave them a 37-34 lead at half. The Wolfpack scored the first 10 points of the second half and never trailed.

UW lost for only the third time to Nevada.

The Cowboys will take on Air Force Wednesday at 7 p.m. in their Mountain West home opener.
