Sean Chambers ran for one touchdown and threw for another, as the Wyoming Cowboys won their homecoming game 23-10 over New Mexico Saturday in Laramie.
Wyoming (5-2, 2-1) rushed for 259 yards with a pair of 100-yard rushers. Xazavian Valladay had 127 yards and one touchdown. Chambers added 117 yards on the ground.

This was also the sixth consecutive win at home for UW dating back to last season.
The Cowboys took advantage of a New Mexico fumble for their first score. Chambers took it in from 1-yard out for a 7-0 lead near the end of the first quarter. UW had another good drive but that resulted in a missed field goal. It was 7-0 at halftime.
Wyoming scored on its opening possession of the second half. Valladay punched it in from three yards out for a 13-0 lead.
The Lobos got a field goal on the first play of the fourth quarter, but the Pokes answered right back. A Chambers 15-yard TD pass to Josh Harshman put UW ahead 20-3.
New Mexico responded with their own touchdown drive and cut it to 20-10.
A Cooper Rothe 36-yard field goal with just under one minute left finished off the 13-point victory.
The Cowboys finished with 345 yards of total offense. Chambers was 9-15 passing for 86 yards. He found six different receivers. Wyoming kept drives alive, as they went 11-for-18 on third down. They were also almost plus-10 in time-of-possession. UW was plus-1 in turnover margin.
