The Wyoming Cowboys are inviting you to get to know the new Pokes with an open intersquad scrimmage October 17.

Head coach Larry Shyatt is welcoming fans to see the new faces on the University of Wyoming men’s basketball team. The scrimmage will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium. That is prior to UW’s football game against Nevada at 2 p.m. in War Memorial Stadium.

The Cowboys won the Mountain West tournament, but lost five of those players. They return only one starter and seven letterwinners. Combine that with eight newcomers, it's a new team to get to know.

Wyoming started practice last Friday with a roster that features six freshmen and six sophomores. Two juniors and just one senior, Josh Adams, round out the 15 Cowboys this season.

The Pokes open the season on November 7 with an exhibition game in the Arena-Auditorium. UW will unveil their championship banner in a special pregame ceremony.
