County Fair Presents: Pig Wrestling and Calcutta

The Albany County Fair will be presenting a night of pig wrestling on Thursday August 2nd, with a calcutta before hand.

An official spokesperson for the Albany County Fair Office says that slots are still available for pig wrestling teams.  Teams can be submitted in 4 categories: Girls 16-and-under, Boys 16-and-under, Men (Adult) and Women (Adult).  According to the Fair Office, teams are to consist of 4 members, all in the same age group and all comprised of the same gender (no co-ed teams).  Team entry before Thursday is $20 for the junior teams, $30 for adult teams and $65 for any team entering late, on Thursday.  There is a maximum allotment of 12 teams.

Admission for spectators and participants in the calcutta is $5.  Gates open at 5:30 pm with the calcutta at 6:00 and the pig wrestling at 7:00.
