The economy is in rough shape and to address the matter a number of nonpartisan groups are advocating on behalf of cutting the federal deficit. The Concord Coalition is one of those nonpartisan groups and they recently appointed Paul Hansen as the new Rocky Mountain regional director.

Paul Hansen is a conservationist from Jackson Hole, WY. He has decades of experience in public policy work and civic engagement efforts around the country. In his new position, Hansen will oversee work in the Rocky Mountain region consisting of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.

Hansen previously served for 12 years as executive director of the Izaak Walton League of America. He also spent 11 years as director of the conservation organization’s  Midwest office.  Most recently though, he worked for The Nature Conservancy in Wyoming and has received the Keystone Center’s Leadership in the Environment Award. Some other notable achievements include serving as chair of the “Green Group” -- the leadership forum of the CEOs of the major national environmental groups. He was founding member of the American Wildlife Conservation Partners, and he was also on the board of the Louisiana Pacific Corporation from 1999 to 2007.

The Concord Coalition is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization dedicated to fiscal responsibility. Co-chairing the coalition are Former U.S. Senators Warren B. Rudman of New Hampshire and Bob Kerrey of Nebraska.
