Several weeks have passed since the tragic washout on Wyoming 130 that killed four members of a Colorado Springs Family. The Constantinides family was evacuating their campground because of heavy rain when their van tumbled into a washed out section of highway killing Laurel Constantinides and their three adopted daughters. In honor of the family, Doherty High School in Colorado Springs will host a 5k run and charity walk.

The 5k run/walk will be August 27th and costs $20. The $20 entry donations will go to Half The Sky Foundation which benefits children in Chinese Orphanages. Alex and Laurel  had adopted their three daughters Hanna, Zoey and Lucia from Asia. Hanna was 8, Zoey was 5 and Lucia was 2.

Repairs have been done on that section of Wyoming 130 but the lives lost that day will never be forgotten. The 5k run/walk is a simple way to show your support and the money donated to Half The Sky Foundation will continue to benefit children in Chinese orphanages.
