Christensen Concedes Republican Wyoming U.S. House Race as Associated Press Predicts Cheney Victory
Wyoming Sen. Leland Christensen (R-Teton), had a few words for his supporters Tuesday night as Liz Cheney ran away with the republican primary election in the race for Wyoming's seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Christensen's campaign released this statement:
Alta, Wyoming – Wyoming State Senator Leland Christensen released the following statement this evening on the primary election for the state’s lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“First and foremost, thank you to the people of Wyoming for their tremendous support and encouragement. While the outcome is not what we hoped for, I am immensely grateful for every single person who cast their ballot for me, volunteered, placed a yard sign in their front yard and offered their guidance and prayers.”
“To my wife Anita, my sons Hunter and Wyatt who traveled with me throughout this campaign, and my entire family – I am blessed beyond measure. Thank you for your unconditional love and support. To my campaign staff and the many volunteers who contributed to our efforts – I am incredibly grateful for your support, your time and your commitment to our cause.”
“I’d also like to congratulate my opponent, Liz Cheney, on her victory tonight. As Wyoming continues to bear the brunt of a heavy-handed federal government, it is important we send a Republican to Washington. As a party we must now unite to put Wyoming first as we head into the general election.”
“I look forward to continuing my service to the great state of Wyoming in the legislature. Serving my fellow Wyoming citizens has been, and continues to be, a tremendous honor. Thank you.”
