Cheyenne Regional Airport Adding 2nd Flight to Dallas/Fort Worth
The Cheyenne Regional Airport announced Monday it is adding a second flight to Dallas/Fort Worth.
Mayor Marian Orr says the American Airlines flight -- which departs at 5:45 a.m. and gets back into Cheyenne at 11:53 p.m. -- will start in May and go through August.
"It's obviously very much targeted towards our wonderful tourism season and convention season," said Orr.
"With this additional flight, we'll have an extra 50 different locations that we can connect to," she added. "It really opens up both that west coast market and that east coast market for business travel as well as leisure travel."
Orr says University of Wyoming student-athletes from Texas are also excited about the flight, and it'll be a key player in UW's recruiting efforts.
"How fantastic to have the student-athletes fly into Cheyenne versus DIA and travel through CSU ram territory to get to the University of Wyoming," she said.
