Cheyenne Blizzard Warning Lifted, Travel Still Discouraged

The blizzard warning which had been in place for Cheyenne and much of southeast Wyoming has now been downgraded to a winter weather advisory, according to the Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service.

The agency posted this statement on its website on Thursday morning:

Blizzard Warnings have been ended for Wyoming but will continue for the Nebraska panhandle until 3 pm. Moderate snow with blowing snow and low visibility is likely through Noon. Area roads remain slick from the heavy snow that fell Wednesday. Avoid travel as conditions won’t improve until later this afternoon and evening as the storm pushes off to the east. Snow will gradually end through the morning and afternoon hours with all snow ceasing by 6pm this evening.
