Three unbeaten teams remain, plus an old rivalry enters a new stage, as the NFL enters its fifth week of the 2012 season. Here’s a preview of all of this weekend’s action:

Defensive stars Lance Briggs and Charles Tillman each returned an interception for a touchdown, and the Chicago Bears beat the Dallas Cowboys, 34-18, in Dallas on Monday night.

NFL ball boy isn’t exactly the most exciting job in the National Football League so a kid has to make it seem like it’s a Super Bowl moment every time he chases after a ball.

The New York Giants missed a chance to secure a divisional win, while Arizona and Atlanta each needed late field goals to remain unbeaten. Here’s a recap of all of Sunday’s action:

The Lingerie Football League is not without its merits, but it isn’t exactly a paragon of football excellence. Still, league officials were reportedly so concerned about the incompetence of some of their officials that they chose to fire them rather than risk “the credibility of [their] game.” Meanwhile, the unsuspecting National Football League proceeded to hire these very same officials to oversee their nationally televised, brutally physical games. We’re thinking Mr. Goodell didn’t do his homework on this one.

Cary Williams returned an interception 63 yards for a touchdown, and the Baltimore Ravens held on to defeat the Cleveland Browns, 23-16, in Baltimore on Thursday night.

Just seven years removed from the cancelled 2004-05 season, the NHL is moving perilously close to another major work stoppage. The regular season is still scheduled to begin October 11, just two weeks away, but the owners, who locked the players out earlier this month, have now decided to fully cancel the preseason. This does not bode well if you’re a hockey fan.
