
Cheyenne To See Wyoming’s First Gas-Fired Power Plant?
Cheyenne might just be the first in the state to be home to a natural gas-fired power plant. A utility company has applied with the Wyoming Public Service Commission to build the plant that would become operational by 2014.
Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power is the utility company who is proposing to build the natural gas-fired power plant within city limits. The plant would generate 120 megawatts of power, cost $158 million dollars and would be Wyoming's first gas-fired power plant.
Construction on the plant would begin next year and if approved would begin operation in 2014.Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power is a subsidiary of Black Hills Corp. out of Rapid City South Dakota.
