The 'A Girl and A Gun' Women's Shooting League is opening a chapter in Cheyenne Tuesday, August 6th.

The group currently holds over 1,500 members nationwide and over 8,000 fans on social media.  A Girl and A Gun was designed to get ladies involved in shooting sports.  The objective is to educate and encourage women of the opportunities in both recreational and sport shooting.

The new Cheyenne chapter will be based out of Otto Road Shooting Range, LLC.  Regular events will include Girl's Night Out, Breakfast & Bullets, and Trigger Time.  The chapter hopes to attract around 20-30 women at each event.

Group facilitator Tracy Hughes says “We have girls of all ages.  Our youngest members are in elementary school all the way up to retirees and grandmothers.”

If you're interested in the group, please attend the official launch party Tuesday, August 6th at the Laramie County Library from 6 pm to 8 pm in the Willow Room.  The event features a meet and greet with founder Julianna Crowder and local facilitator April Strong.
