Over three dozen high school students from Casper were involved in a school bus crash this morning. The bus was carrying high school students who were on their way to a national band competition in Indiana.

According to the Iowa State Patrol 39 people were taken to hospitals in Omaha Nebraska after their school bus apparently blew a tire, crashed then partially rolled. The crash occurred near Minden Nebraska on Interstate 80.

The Casper Star-Tribune said the young musicians are members of the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps. It's the only competitive junior drum and bugle corps in Wyoming. Founded more than 50 years ago, it participates in the Drum Corps International Summer Music Games tour during the summer months. The band had traveled through the night from Cheyenne, and were 40 minutes from their housing in Iowa when the accident occurred.

None of the injuries sustained are believed to be life threatening but the driver of the bus sustained serious injuries after being pinned inside the bus. The charter bus was full of band students who were set to compete in a band competition in Indiana.
