UPDATE:

Fortunately, no one was injured in a crash involving a school bus with students aboard in Cheyenne Friday afternoon.

Police spokeswoman Alex Farkas says the incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. near Frontier Mall.

"The driver of a school bus from Sweetwater County District #2 collided with the concrete base of a light pole," Farkas told KGAB Radio. "The pilar of the light pole had reportedly been hit previously and was low to the ground."

"The impact resulted in damage to the school bus, which was later towed away with the assistance of Laramie County School District #1," she added. "A replacement bus was provided for the students to be transported in."

Farkas says the bus driver was cooperative and remained on the scene to assist officers with their investigation.
