The Laramie Police Department has announced that it is investigating the attempted abduction of a 3-year-old child in Laramie, just before 1:00 Monday afternoon.

According to an official press release from Laramie P.D., the child was reported to have been playing in an un-fenced yard on the 2400 block of north 9th street, when the child was approached by an adult male.  The release goes on to say that the male reportedly grabbed the child by the hand and attempted to leave the yard with the child.

A caregiver for the child called to the man who let the child go and walked away.  The caregiver was then said to have called sometime after these events.

Patrols of the area have thus far not generated any results.

Police are looking for a suspect matching this description:

-Caucasian or Hispanic male with a dark tan.
-Believed to be in his Late 30's or Early 40's
-5'10", Stocky Build
-Black, short wavy hair
-Short beard or several days worth of stubble

The suspect was wearing:

-Dark grey t-shirt
-Blue jeans
-Black lace-up boots
