University of Wyoming sophomore Shaina Ashouri recorded a hat trick and led the Cowgirls to a 3-0 victory over Idaho State last Friday.

Ashouri scored off an assist from Alisha Bass in the 14th minute for 1-0 lead. It stayed that way until Ashouri scored two unassisted goals in a five minute span late in the match. The first goal was in the 79th minute, while the second was in the 84th. She now leads the squad with six goals on the season.

Wyoming (4-1-3) finished with 25 shots by ten different players. The Cowgirls also notched their fourth shutout of the season. They are unbeaten at home since 2013.

UW returns to action in their Mountain West opener on Friday versus San Jose State at 4 p.m.
