The Army Corps of Engineers will be hosting a Restoration Advisory Board (RAB) meeting on June 7th at 6pm to discuss the environmental investigations and pre-design remediation activities related to the trichloroethene present in groundwater from the former Atlas Missile Site 4 on the Belvoir Ranch located west of Cheyenne Wyoming.

The meeting will present a summary of the investigation and remediation activities completed to date, the current site conditions, and activities planned for this year. The public will be given an opportunity for questions relating to this issue.

Project Manager for the DEQ Jane Francis says the RAB provides a forum for the public to discuss concerns and questions over the investigation and remediation activities.

According to Francis, "RABs give an opportunity for participation in the decision-making process.  It is hoped that formation of a RAB will develop and maintain positive community relations. If anyone is interested, there are still spaces available for members of the public to serve on the board.

Jim Widlar, former missileer at the Atlas Missile Site, will display numerous photographs of missile activities at the site from the 1960’s and will be available to answer questions about these operations.

The meeting will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Laramie County Community College, Room 121.
