The 2013 Emmy Awards winners were announced Sunday night during the awards ceremony, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

In addition to the expected standouts, like Showtime's 'Homeland,' HBO's 'Game of Thrones' and 'Girls,' AMC's 'Mad Men' and 'Breaking Bad,' and NBC's 'Modern Family' and '30 Rock,' Netflix's hit original piece of streaming content 'House of Cards' was recognized. In addition, newcomer series 'Bates Motel' on A&E entered the Lead Actress in a Drama fray, though the 'Breaking Bad' crew was certainly foremost on fans' minds, being that the series is in its last, heart-racing run. So who won big?

'Breaking Bad' took home Outstanding Drama Series, while 'Modern Family' once again won Outstanding Comedy Series. Another big winner, 'Behind the Candelabra,' HBO's Steven Soderbergh-directed biopic of Liberace and his lover, Scott Thorson, scored Outstanding Miniseries/Movie, Outstanding Director for Soderbergh and Outstanding Lead Actor for Michael Douglas. However, probably the most surprising moment of the evening came when Jeff Daniels ('The Newsroom') beat Bryan Cranston ('Breaking Bad') for Lead Actor in a Drama.
