A head-on collision involving two semis left two people dead and another injured early Monday morning.

Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeremy Beck says the crash occurred around 2:49 a.m. at milepost 64 on U.S. 30 east of Kemmerer.

Beck says 63-year-old Volodymyr Boyko, of Portland, Oregon, was headed west when he failed to negotiate a slight right-hand curve, crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with an oncoming semi.

Boyko and the driver of the oncoming semi, 40-year-old Candi Guy, of Bessemer, Alabama, died at the scene.

Beck says Boyko wasn't buckled up, but it's unknown if Guy was wearing her seat belt due to damage from the crash.

Guy's passenger, 26-year-old Daniel Laster, of Ludowici, Georgia, was taken to South Lincoln Medical Center in Kemmerer for his injuries.

Driver inattention or fatigue on the part of Boyko is being investigated as a contributing factor.
