Summer college baseball is back in the Gem City, as the Laramie Colts open their third season in the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Baseball League Friday.

Laramie takes on the Rough Riders in a doubleheader from Cowboy Field at 5:30 p.m.

After a 21-17 record last year, manager Anthony Flask was set to return until he took a job in the Milwaukee Brewers organization earlier this year.

In steps Joe Milbury, from Seminole, FL, who comes with ten years high school and college coaching experience. Kolton Mayall and Chris Kemper are filling out the coaching staff as assistants.

Coach Milbury previewed the season on a visit during ‘Laramie Live on KOWB’ Tuesday. He said they’re still finalizing their roster and discussed the challenges with that. Milbury also said he’s still analyzing what type of squad he has; laid out his strategy; talked about the league the Colts are in and more.

Outside of Friday’s opener and another single home date July 6 versus the Arvada Colts, the rest of the home action is combined into three tournaments. The Laramie GM Tournament is June 10-12. The next one is the Premier Bone and Joint Tournament July 2-4. Their final home tourney is the First Interstate Bank Tournament July 15-17.

The RMBL hosts an All-Star Game in Boulder, CO June 29. Their league tournament is set for July 18-24 in Denver.
