The 2013 Dead Dog Classic Memorial Stage Race returns to the Gem City June 22 and 23 with three races over two days of competition in and around Laramie. This year's race celebrates the 25th anniversary of the event in its 29th year.

It’s Race Day and if you are like many Laramie locals and can’t recall the story behind the naming of the Dead Dog Classic we’re happy to share a quick refresher on the race’s history.

Wyoming is much more accommodating than other states where arrangements for a big cycling race are concerned. As a highly amateur commuter cyclist (by which I mean I typically spend more time on the pavement than on my bike) I greatly admire individuals who do the necessary training and have the discipline and endurance required for a challenge like the Dead Dog Classic Memorial Stage Race.
