Just over eleven years ago, eight University of Wyoming cross country student athletes were killed in a collision with a drunk driver. The annual "Always A Cowboy" 8k run and 5k walk will honor their memory on Saturday, September 22 in Laramie.

It has been ten years since eight University of Wyoming cross-country runners were killed by a drunk driver on September 16, 2001. Wyoming Governor Matt Mead decided to mark the anniversary by signing an Executive Order establishing his Council on Impaired Driving.

The 10th Anniversary Always A Cowboy 8k run and 5k walk will be at Undine Park in Laramie this Saturday, Sept. 10 at 9:00 a.m. Raceday registration is available for $25 at 7 a.m. University of Wyoming cross country coach Randi Cole and Steve Kaiser from Gem City Bone and Joint came onto Sportsline Live with David Settle and Steve Kiggins.
