Laramie came into their games Friday night trying to bounce back from their losses to Gillette last Saturday. Both teams came away with wins over the Cheyenne South Bison. For the Plainsmen, they locked up a spot in the state tournament thanks to the victory and a little help. As for the Lady Plainsmen, they got closer to hosting a first round, loser-out Regional tournament game on February 28.

The #5 Lady Plainsmen (13-7, 3-5) broke their three game losing streak with a 60-28 victory over the Lady Bison. Laramie came out ready to play and led at halftime 30-14, as held the Lady Bison to four points in the 2nd quarter. Madison Legerski led the Lady Plainsmen with 24 points and Jacqui Pulley followed with 12 points. Laramie maintained fourth place in the 4A East standings. Next up the Laramie plays #1 Cheyenne East in Cheyenne on Friday February 22nd.

The #3 Plainsmen (16-4, 6-2) bounced back from their loss to #1 Gillette with a 68-58 win over Cheyenne South. With the win, Laramie clinched their berth to the state tournament. The Bison never led in the game but did tie the game twice in the 2nd quarter. Thanks to eight 3-pointers, LHS was able to hold off any South challenge. The Plainsmen had four players in double figures, Tyler Loose had 16 points, Sam Feldman had 15 points, Sam Hainline had 11 points and Dominick Villarreal had 10 points. The Plainsmen next play the East High Thunderbirds next Friday following the girls game.
