Laramie Splits at Cheyenne East
The final weekend of regular season of high school basketball is upon us. The Lady Plainsmen faced off against the #1 ranked Lady Thunderbirds and lost 55-44. While the Plainsmen swept Cheyenne East in the regular season winning 59-49.
Laramie Sweeps Cheyenne South in Capital City
Laramie came into their games Friday night trying to bounce back from their losses to Gillette last Saturday. Both teams came away with wins over the Cheyenne South Bison. For the Plainsmen, they locked up a spot in the state tournament thanks to the victory and a little help. As for the Lady Plainsmen, they got closer to hosting a first round, loser-out Regional tournament game on February 28.
Plainsmen Lose at #1 Gillette
The 4A East conference showdown between #1 Gillette and #2 Laramie didn't quite go the Plainsmen's way as they lost to the Camels 68-49. The Plainsmen still hold their second place spot in the east conference standings thanks to their 73-67 win at Sheridan on Friday night.
Plainsmen Win on the Road in Sheridan, 73-67
Laramie started the second half of conference play on Friday night in Sheridan. A win would give Laramie some room between them and the rest of the field in the 4A east standings and the Plainsmen did just that, beating Sheridan 73-67.
Laramie Sweeps in Rock Springs
Laramie won both their games beating Rock Springs on Friday night. Thanks to a joint effort by Madison Legerski and Katie Kuhn scoring 18 of Laramie's 20 points in the 3rd quarter the Lady Plainsmen rallied in the second half to win 51-46. The Plainsmen followed the girls win with a 69-50 victory of their own.
Laramie Finished Final Day in Riverton with Wins
Going into their games on Saturday, the Plainsmen and Lady Plainsmen had a combined record of 3-1 at the Bill Strannigan East-West Challenge. Both teams ended on the positive side Saturday. The Lady Plainsmen rallied in the second half for a 57-47 victory over Casper Kelly Walsh, while the Plainsmen bounced back with a hard-fought 50-47 win over the Trojans.
Laramie sweeps Evanston at the Bill Strannigan East-West Challenge
Both Laramie High School basketball teams were successful in their 2013 calendar debut Thursday night, as LHS swept a girls-boys doubleheader at the Bill Stranigan East-West Challenge in Riverton. The Laramie Lady Plainsmen beat Evanston 44-28, while the Laramie Plainsmen took care of Evanston 52-41.
Laramie Plainsmen Suffer First Loss to Greeley Central
The Laramie High School boys lost to Greeley Central, 70-66, on Thursday in their first game at the Greeley Boys Basketball Invitational. It was their first loss of the season.
