Laramie Splits at Cheyenne East

The final weekend of regular season of high school basketball is upon us. The Lady Plainsmen faced off against the #1 ranked Lady Thunderbirds and lost 55-44. While the Plainsmen swept Cheyenne East in the regular season winning 59-49.

The #5 Lady Plainsmen (13-8) dropped to 3-6 in conference play after losing to #1 Cheyenne East 55-44. After the 1st quarter Laramie had tied the game up at 13-13 and trailed by one point at halftime 23-22. Thanks to a 9-3 run at the end of the 3rd quarter the Lady Plainsmen led 36-35 but Laramie turned the ball over five times in the first three minutes of the final quarter and some key three pointers by the Lady Thunderbirds secured their eleven point win. Katie Kuhn led Laramie with 20 points. Next up for the Lady Plainsmen, they play Cheyenne Central in the Capital City on Saturday February 23rd, tip-off is set for 1:00pm.

The #3 Plainsmen (17-4) already secured their state tournament spot with their win over South last Friday but that didn't stop them from their 59-49 victory over Cheyenne East. Laramie started off struggling and trailed at half 29-24. Tyler Loose led the way for the Plainsmen with 16 points, Sam Hainline followed with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Sam Feldman had 12 points and 5 rebounds. The Plainsmen next play the Cheyenne Central Indians following the girls game.
